About Us

Jonas Aiken, the famous inventor, built the home in the mid 1800's. The front section of the home was moved up from the Lake and goes back to the late 1700's. Jonas Aiken often was host to prominent inventors such as Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, and Harvey Firestone. Taking care to maintain the historical value of the Property, many renovations have been made. The original floors, wallpaper design, black walnut bookcases, etc., have been painstakingly preserved.
Webster Lake is named after Daniel Webster whose boat house is still on the property.

About The Owners

Warren has worked as a chef since age 16 at the prestigious Red Lion Inn, in Cohasset, MA. He was also the banquet chef at the Lafayette Hotel in Boston. Later in his cooking career he attended and graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Poughkeepsie, NY.

Yvonne trained in Switzerland as a Swiss pastry chef. She moved to the United States in 1989 as an exchange student. She met Warren while working at the Ritz Carlton in Philadelphia. They moved back to Boston and ended up working at the Weston Golf Club as a Chef and Pastry chef.

In 1994, they opened a 120 seat breakfast and lunch restaurant in Plainville, Massachusetts and just recently sold it in 2019. After owning the popular breakfast and lunch restaurant for over 25 years, they had a dream to own a Bed and Breakfast in New Hampshire, and they knew they wanted to keep working together. Through much hard work and effort, their dream of owning a Bed & Breakfast finally came true.

With Aiken Manor, they found their new home and can't wait to share it with you!
